Early Massachusetts settler, 1634.
Third son of Peter Montague of Boveny, parish of Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England, and wife Ellenor Allen.
Arrived on the Speedwell in 1634, lived in Wells, Maine, in 1646; lived in Boston; lived in Wethersfield, Ct. (1651-1659); lived in Hadley, Massachusetts, 1680. Offices: selectman 1671,1677; freeman, 1680; Clerk of Writs, 1681. Around 1637 married Abigal Downing, daughter of Rev. Dr. Downing. A number of his descendents occur in this timeline.
